Getting to know the Mimsey...

Hello Gentle Readers,

As part of the magical "Reintroduce Blogfest Monday" I thought I would introduce myself. Or re-introduce myself.

Hello! My name is Jay Mims, and I'm an author.

I'm an indie author, writing for an indie publisher, and I listen to all my music on vinyl.

Hipster Dalek: Exterminating before it was mainstream.

I'm originally from South Carolina, which is why book 2, Cult of Koo Kway, is a Gullah mystery. I also write lighthearted mysteries. So, apparently, I currently have a lock on lighthearted Gullah murder mysteries.

Also: I killed Santa.

I'm currently working on book 3 of this series, which should come out late summer. That book's called The Gray Ghost Inn. Book 4, Racing the Storm, will be out in the fall.

That one's a NaNoWriMo book.

Please feel free to follow the blog as I chronicle my misadventures and wacky antics.

    1. I did. I feel kinda bad. I'll be going out to deliver presents. Insert either a Santa Clause or Hogfather joke here.

Thanks for the comment. It's so nice to meet you as well, and I'm really glad to be able to contribute to such an awesome endeavor!

  2. Vinyl? I'm old enough to remember the pros of vinyl (awesome album covers) and the cons (at least four stinkers per album.) Still, I appreciate the nod to the old timers :) Check us out at http://citymusecountrymuse2012.blogspot.com/

    1. I also think, and this is the audio nerd in me, that music has a better quality. I should say though, I really do listen to all sorts of music. I just wanted a good segue into doing "Hipster Dalek".

Looking forward to checking out the City Muse Country Muse.

    1. Is it weird that I kinda just said "Hey, Hart would appreciate a dude in a bathtub." I may be spending too much time lurking on your blog!

Oh! There's a joke in this blog post: http://themimsey.blogspot.com/2012/12/finding-perfect-christmas-giftten.html

That only about five people are going to get. You are one of them, hopefully.

    1. It was purely accidental, I promise. Mostly. Kind of.
