Without anything being finalized, it looks like I’ll be self publishing the book.
In the back of my mind, I realized that this was coming, but I had hopes that Kensington Books might pick me up. They are the awesome people who I always describe as “The Cupcake mystery” people. I realize there are other book series they publish, but that’s what I always remember them as.
While they did reject my MS, they gave me some really great feedback, and I was very grateful for that. I love getting feedback, because as a part-time editor (video) I know everything can be improved.
So gentle reader, don’t get discouraged if like me you have a dream project, something you desperately want to see completed. It can happen. It will happen. BELIEVE.
Or as that true hero of dreamers everywhere, Kermit the Frog, said:
"I have a dream too, but it's about singing and dancing and making people happy. It's the kind of dream that gets better the more people you share it with. And I found a whole group of friends who have the same dream, and that makes us sort of like a family."
Keep the faith dreamers. I’m off to go feed Big Willy, Not Big Willy, and Also Not Big Willy, and then watch some Netflix.
Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die

The haiku my grandmother put in my high school graduation card...I kept it longer than I did the cash!
Love the quote.
ReplyDeleteAs do I. That is seriously a great quote.
ReplyDeleteFeedback is a great sign. Keep holding on to that dream. You'll be published!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah that's a great quote from a very smart man...er...frog.
Be encouraged and thanks for the encouragement!
ReplyDeleteThe Muppet Movie is a constant inspiration! Thanks for the reminder. :)
