Mimsey's Five Favorite Flyers...Brought to you by Caprion's Wings Blog Tour

Hello Gentle Readers,

Who's your hero? This may come as a shock to you, but I have always loved superheros. And flying.
And flying superheroes.

And Batman. In his Batcopter.

So, I thought, why not share my top five favorite flyers:

Mimsey's Five Favorite Flyers

1)  Superman

Let's be honest here. It's Superman. This is the quintessential hero! This is big blue, the guy who set the standard for the high-flyers.

2)  The Greatest American Hero

Maybe it's because the guy reminds me so much of my awesome friend Dave, but I really have a soft spot for this dude.

3)  Wonder Woman

Fighting for the spirit of truth, love and normalcy of bondage, Wonder Woman brings the awesome. Whether flying in her invisible jet or just normally flying using her own superpowers, WW rocks it hard!

4)  Captain Marvel

With a history complicated enough to give Hawkman a headache, Marvel's Captain Marvel (not to be confused with the character called Shazaam---it's comics, it's complicated!) Captain Marvel sends a clear message. Female super heroes can be fun, awesome and not need a cleavage window to be powerful (looking at you Power Girl!). And she gives piggy-back rides to Spider-Man! What's not to love?

5)  Andrew Clements (kid from My Secret Identity)

In all honesty, I took on this blog post just so I could make a reference to the first time I ever saw Jerry O'Connell. Yes, the dude from Sliders, Stand By Me and Scream 2 made a young Mimsey think all you needed to fly was aerosol cans and a catchy theme.

Jay Mims has watched far too much Canadian TV. He currently lives with the Mimsus, a passive-aggressive Dalek named Steve, and whatever cats stop by for food. Because his blushing bride just loves feeding stray animals. He writes books and is far funnier on Facebook then in real life. He is terrible at Twitter.

And speaking of hot flyers:

A novella of The Cat's Eye Chronicles.
Release Date: February 28th, 2014

By the age of nineteen, all Harpies know how to fly—except Caprion. He has yet pass the test of the Singing and gain his wings. His family has disowned him in shame and people are beginning to talk. Caprion decides to find the root of this insidious voice, no matter what it takes. He journeys to the secret prisons of the Harpy underground, where he meets a young slave named Moss. In those sunless, decrepit cells, a forbidden friendship is formed. Can Caprion and Moss find the source of the voice? And can Caprion save Moss from a terrible fate?

Join young Caprion as he journeys down, down into the earth, finding his wings and forging a friendship that will change him forever.

  1. I totally forgot about the Greatest American Hero. That one was awesome. Right up there with Macguyver, Airwolf and the A Team.
