The Pineapple, The Dragon and The Mimsey: A Birthday Reflection...

Hello Gentle Readers,

Yesterday was my birthday, and I was really excited to be able to celebrate it with such a wonderful and diverse group. Festivities began the day before, when The Mimsus, shutterbug Bobbi Jo and myself went to Roadhouse to eat.

There was too little Swayze to be found.

Apparently it was kids day at Roadhouse, which mostly consisted of the wait staff wearing t-shirts that....I got to be honest, it looked like they raided my wardrobe. I love me some cartoon designs.

And Doctor Who...

And in keeping with the kids day, there was a balloon artist working his twisting magic. As a birthday treat, he made me a dragon hat. Like, a fire breathing dragon made entirely of balloons, and it even fit my head. Which is an accomplishment all to itself.

It was EPIC!

The next day it was back to work...

This was my view of the hallway. Apparently, I work in a horror film.
That night, The Mimsus and I went to see How To Train Your Dragon 2. It was a lot of fun.

AMC wished me, specifically, a happy birthday!

And, when we came home, I was surprised to see pineapple upside down cake! My favorite kind of upside down cake. It even had a little Superman action figure on it. Everything's better with Superman.

All in all, it was such a pleasure to have a memorable birthday! Thanks to everyone for their kind birthday wishes! Now, I'm sure you're wondering what you can get me for a present, but I have a suggestion: Please buy my books. Seriously, if you like the blog, you'd probably like the books.

To find out more about the books, check out Day 4 from The Twelve Days of Mimsey.
And in the meantime, keep it Mimsey!
Jay Mims writes books, blogs, and thinks we should all do some KARAOKE! Jay lives with The Mimsus, a semi-adopted cat named Eartha Kitty, a lizard named Bob and a passive-aggressive Dalek named Steve. Jay is far funnier on Facebook then in real life. He is terrible at Twitter.  Jay now has a website.

    1. I'd gladly wear the hat more, but it's like 1000 degrees and I sweat like I got Malaria.
