Mimsey's Top 5 Gardening Tips: Brought to you by the White Hellebore Blog Tour!

Hello Gentle Readers,

Many of you may not know, but I'm quite the gardener.

This is my gardnering outfit.

With that in mind, and in celebration of my awesome friend Nicole Zoltack has a book out, here's some helpful hints on gardening!

5) Accessories are EVERYTHING

If you're like me, you know it's always important to wear the right hat. Hat's are cool. Unfortunately, I have a head the size of a small planet, so finding the right sized hat can be difficult.

I've often been told the main difference
between James Dean and I
is the ability to wear a hat.

But, if you're looking for something a little less "Sexy Cowboy" and more "Prevent Skin Cancer" then might I recommend a wide brimmed hat?

A nice hat and some long sleeves
You'll bring all the boys to the yard.
And prevent melanoma.

4) Earthworms are your friends
I realize that most people see a worm and go "EW! BUG!" Or, if you live in my neck of the woods they go "Hey! Bait!"
Little known fact: They can also harmonize!

But, it's critical that you understand: Worms are awesome! They help to till the soil, they fertilize the ground, and are a really key component to any successful garden.

Or if you're feeling lazy, you can buy a 15lb bag of earthworm poop.

3) The right tool is half the battle!

Please note: None of these are the right tool.
And I love Tim Allen!

Whatever type of gardening you're doing, know that the tools you use are there to make life easier. If you've ever heard the phrase "Measure twice, cut once" then you know a job worth doing is worth planning. And if you haven't heard that phrase, then you probably didn't take shop class. It was awesome!

You can accesorize a 5 gallon bucket.
I have no idea why, but this makes me happy!

2) Composting can be fun!

Do you have organic garbage? Do you like making giant piles? Then composting is for you! All you need is a place to store it, a willingness to withstand the smell, and the ability to not light it on fire!

I'm not sure why someone would design a
composter to look suspciously like a BBQ grill.
That's just evil.

Seriously, be careful with composts.
They can even light themselves on fire!

1) DON'T FORGET TO WATER THE PLANTS!

The Mimsus asked me to water her plants while she took care of her Mom. Please remember the most important gardening tip of all, Gentle Readers: DON'T FORGET TO WATER THE PLANTS!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I got to go plant shopping. For replace----I mean for decoration!

And if you're looking for a little summer reading, be sure to check out Nicole Zoltack's new book White Hellebore!

BLURB:

After destroying Skull Krusher, Nicholas Adams thinks Falledge is safe and becomes a security guard at the museum, watching a valuable statue. Unfortunately, the Egyptian statue houses the soul of a scorned witch, biding her time to have her revenge on the descendants of her cheating lover.

Kiya the witch isn't the only new foe in town as the drug that created Skull Krusher has now transformed a scientist into yet another monster, forcing Nicholas to don his Black Hellebore mask again and save Falledge.

Nicholas has no help this time as Kiya gains possession of his love Julianna's body and brings the soul of Justina, Nicholas's high school sweetheart and Julianna's twin, with her. Despite himself, Nicholas is torn between the sisters. If he can't stop the fiends from taking over the world and destroying humankind, he'd never be able to find lasting, true love.
